A Toasted Almond

By Kelly Jameson Photography by Marty Snortum Studio

My neighbor Roberta Lukens shared this recipe with me over the summer, which she got from a neighbor of hers. (Don’t you wish you lived in my neighborhood?) Although we enjoyed it in the dead of summer, a Toasted Almond is definitely a great winter sipper, and can be served cold or warm.

1 oz Creme de Cacao liqueur
1 oz Amaretto
1 oz Kahlua
3 oz fat-free half & half

Combine all ingredients. Shake with cubed ice and strain into a highball or old-fashioned glass. Garnish with shaved chocolate, a dusting of nutmeg or a cinnamon stick.
