"Offering El Paso Something Different"
After my husband, George Thomas, died in October 2007, I immediately did the one thing he was set against - bought the building and opened a restaurant. Now that I have made that confession, perhaps an explanation is in order.
In our younger years, George and I spent as much time as possible in Southern California. On one rainy day, we were trying to find somewhere to get out of the downpour. Thinking we must be miles from haven, we suddenly found ourselves in front of a restaurant cleverly tucked away next to some old water front warehouses.
Needless to say, we were so delighted to get out of the weather, but we were unprepared for what awaited us! This restaurant offered us great food, gracious service and the atmosphere one always is searching for in that "perfect place".
We fell in love with a place named "Delaney's".
George and I became "Delaney's Regulars" whenever the opportunity arose and some of the best times of our life included a meal there. So, I want to try to recreate some of that magic feeling George and I had back in those days. I thought it could my tribute to the other Delaney's and especially to George. Enjoy!
